Hi. I'm Diana Lopez.
Health/good food enthusiast, and founder of Yellow Picnic. My health and food journey turned my life around in such a big way that I had to share that power with others, and so, Yellow Picnic was born.
For as long as I can remember, I had a deep desire to achieve an arbitrary ‘ideal weight’. I tried every diet under the sun, many of which were falsely labeled ‘healthy’, to hit those goals. All to the detriment of my physical and mental health. I thought that reaching that certain magic number on the scale would miraculously solve all of my problems, but instead it only created more.
In 2018, I discovered, so much of what I thought was healthy was vastly misinterpreted by marketing schemes full of ingredients that are detrimental to our health. Ingredients that kill our gut microbiome and cause severe brain fog, to name a few. This misguided mission of mine left me extremely sick. I turned to nutrient-dense foods to give my body and mind the nourishment they both needed to heal, and that was the best decision I ever made.
I learned how to use food as a tool to achieve any goal, whether it was a physical goal, to feel more energized, get better sleep, heal mentally, or even feed and nourish myself and my baby while pregnant. Food has been the vehicle to help achieve it all. It is one of the pillars we can use to propel, if used correctly.
Letting go of fad diets and my obsession with them set me free of restrictive and unsustainable eating habits. It allowed me to break the cycle of feeling like a failure and spiraling into the next fad diet.
I started Yellow Picnic because having a meal plan I knew was healthy and met all of my needs without feeling like a punishment is what got me through one of the darkest times of my life. But, I know how demanding sticking to a meal plan can be, and truly believe eating should be fun, and that’s what guides everything we do!
Through much trial and error, I found that the most sustainable way to reach a healthy relationship and lifestyle with food is by creating and implementing a system that is practical and enjoyable in the long term.
The 80/20 method was the perfect solution. It helped me, and today it empowers my clients to reach any goal, and maintain it. In this model, 80% of the meals are delicious, nutrient dense, healthy meals, and 20% are treats like cookies, pasta, and more! Finding this balance is key to creating sustainable lifestyle changes, and preserving your mental health and happiness in the process.
To date, we have helped countless clients reach their goals, physical and otherwise, and witnessed first-hand the power a balanced, fun, and rewarding meal plan can have! If you’re tired of fad diets and battling with your relationship with food, we at Yellow Picnic would be honored to walk your food and health journey with you.
